In addition, the principle of (public) information openness must always be applied...Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture has said that it expects all stakeholders to refer to the 2016–2021 National Health Insurance (JKN) Statistics Book while making health insurance policies.
"It is hoped that the 2016–2021 JKN Statistics Book will become an accurate and up-to-date source of data, thus it can become a reference on health insurance (implementation) in Indonesia to improve people's welfare," deputy for coordination of social welfare improvement at the coordinating ministry Andie Megantara said here on Wednesday.
He made the statement at the launch of the 2016–2021 JKN Statistics Book at the headquarters of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture.
He said that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has issued Presidential Instruction Number 1 of 2022 concerning the optimization of the implementation of the JKN program to strengthen and ensure the sustainability and performance of the program as well as to increase access to quality health services.
In the regulation, the President has ordered state-run Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan), among others, to match their participant data with the related ministries/institutions to increase the accuracy and validity of the JKN program beneficiary data, the deputy added.
"It shows the importance of accurate and up-to-date JKN data. In addition, the principle of (public) information openness must always be applied, one of which is through the publication of the 2016–2021 JKN Statistics Book," he said.
The launch of the book, which can be widely accessed by the community, shows the government’s commitment and integrity in the implementation of the JKN program, he added.
“The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture also hopes that the 2016–2021 JKN Statistics Book can be used to bolster the improvement of quality health services for Indonesian people," he said.
The implementation of the JKN program is one of the mandates of Law Number 40 of 2004 concerning the National Social Security System (SJSN). The program aims to ensure fair and equitable access to health services for citizens. Thus, it is expected to create a healthy and prosperous society.
