However, 200 districts have still not input the data.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Directorate of Maternal and Child Nutrition and Health at the Indonesian Health Ministry urged all health offices to ensure the validity of data on pregnant women for the optimal running of the Maternity Insurance (Jampersal) Program.

"We continue to encourage districts that have not registered the prospective Jampersal participants to ensure that there are no poor people, who do not have insurance in their regions," Acting Director for Maternal and Child Nutrition and Health at the ministry Ni Made Diah remarked here on Tuesday.

In July 2022, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had signed Presidential Instruction Number 5 of 2022 on Increasing Access to Health Services for Pregnant, Birthing, and Postpartum Mothers, as well as Newborns through the Jampersal Program.

According to the acting director, more than 15 thousand data of pregnant women had been validated by the Health Ministry. The data was collected from 34 provinces throughout Indonesia, though it had not covered all districts and cities.

Diah's side has collaborated with the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Social Affairs Ministry, Home Affairs Ministry, as well as state-owned Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) to conduct joint dissemination of information to all regional Health Offices, hospitals, clinics, and health centers regarding the Jampersal Program.

“However, 200 districts have still not input the data," she noted.

Diah also invited pregnant women, who are disadvantaged and have no social security, to participate in the Jampersal Program owing to the simple requirements of identity card numbers (NIK) and a statement of the resident’s poor condition from the village administration (SKTM).

"As soon as the (perspective participant’s) data is input, it will be directly connected to (the data of) BPJS Kesehatan, and even if she is not a JKN (National Health Insurance) member, she will still accept (the insurance)," Diah stated.

Diah remarked that the Jampersal Program provides insurance for health services during pregnancy, childbirth, and post-delivery. The benefits of the program can be availed at various health facilities, including community health center (Puskesmas) and hospitals that have collaborated with BPJS Kesehatan.

“After giving birth, you will still receive postpartum or postnatal care up to 42 days after delivery. Babies, who are born, will also receive health services up to 28 days after birth," she stated.

Diah noted that if mothers and babies got sick or experienced complications during the period, then their treatment costs would also be covered by the insurance program.
