"Villages are one of the supporters of development. Data that starts from inclusive villages can reach the provincial and ministry/agency levels," director of poverty reduction and community empowerment at the ministry, Maliki, said here on Saturday.
Regsosek is one of the efforts to realize One Data Indonesia, he explained. According to him, Regsosek has been devised to provide shared data for welfare and serve as a catalyst in identifying needs and bridging concrete problem-solving.
Efforts to disseminate information to realize One Data Indonesia were launched by the ministry and Statistics Indonesia (BPS) together with several other ministries/agencies through the Regsosek Talk (R-Talk) on “From the Villages for Indonesia's Inclusive Development” in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, on December 13, 2022.

According to Maliki, the event was a joint effort to educate the community, regional governments, and stakeholders about One Data Indonesia, whose collection would start from inclusive villages. Consistent development in villages would certainly bring more optimal results at all levels, he said.
Indonesia needs a strong database that covers the entire population, without exception.
An integrated database is needed to serve as a reference during evidence-based planning and budgeting for the central and regional levels down to the villages, including for reforming the social protection system and accelerating the eradication of extreme poverty, which will be implemented based on Regsosek data.
West Manggarai district head Edistasius Endi said that the district government fully supports Regsosek as an effort to build single population data.
With single data, the government can carry out various programs in an integrated, non-overlapping, and more efficient manner down to the village level, he added.
Endi expressed the hope that Regsosek data would be used as a reference for the integration of social protection and economic empowerment programs and become an accurate basis for government policies, such as social assistance, and for improving public service systems.
