It is the strategic value of Regsosek: to strengthen the quality of (state) spending.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The collection of Socio-Economic Registration (Regsosek) data could help realize a more targeted use of the state expenditure budget, acting head of the Center for State Budget Policy (PKAPBN) of the Finance Ministry, Wahyu Utomo, said.

At the “Regsosek Talk: Young Generation Building the Nation” event organized by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) on Monday, he said that Regsosek could provide more accurate, actual, and integrated data for the government to streamline state spending.

“It is the strategic value of Regsosek: to strengthen the quality of (state) spending. Hopefully, with Regsosek, the data will be more accurate, actual, reliable, and integrated," he added.

Through the availability of accurate, actual, and integrated data, the allocation, distribution, and stabilization function of the state budget can be implemented optimally, thereby encouraging high economic growth as well as reducing poverty, unemployment, and economic inequality, the official explained.

Furthermore, he emphasized that an effective fiscal policy is key for improving the quality of state spending and providing more concrete benefits for people's economy and welfare.

“Without a healthy state budget, it is difficult to achieve (national) prosperity. Hence, one of the pillars to realize a healthy state budget is improving the quality of state spending," he noted.

There are three criteria for quality state spending, namely producing quality output, providing benefits to the society, as well as improving the economic situation, Utomo informed.

"Thus, quality spending must meet three aspects, namely quality, benefits, and value added," he added.

The Regsosek is door-to-door data collection on population, employment, housing conditions, health and disability conditions, social protection, as well as economic empowerment.

The initial data collection will be implemented from October 15 to November 14, 2022.

The Regsosek is part of the government's efforts to build One Data Indonesia -- an initiative to enhance interoperability and the utilization of the government's data to realize better coordination and policy synchronization.
