"Currently, the passenger volume has begun to experience a very significant increase, and based on the ticket sales data, the volume of departing passengers on Friday, December 23, was the highest figure during the Christmas and New Year period," Public Relations Head of PT KAI Operation Area 1 - Jakarta Eva Chairunisa noted.
There were 38 thousand departing passengers on Friday, of which 16 thousand departed from Gambir Station, with 38 train trips.
Meanwhile, another 22 thousand passengers departed from Pasar Senen Station, with 32 train trips.

Chairunisa noted that the figure was still likely to increase on account of the fact that ticket sales for departures until the last train were still open, and sales were still continuing online.
Overall, the KAI Operation Area 1 - Jakarta offers 736,406 tickets for the 20-day holiday period from December 22, 2022, to January 8, 2023.
As of Friday, around 287 thousand tickets were booked for departure from Gambir and Pasar Senen.
Meanwhile, on looking at the most popular dates, December 22-31, 2022, some 240,500 tickets were sold out of the total of 409,212 tickets offered during the 10-day period.

Chairunisa reminded all train passengers to be watchful of the latest vaccination regulations for ensuring smooth travel.
The KAI also advised people to plan their trips well and book tickets in advance, as train tickets for the Christmas and New Year holidays can be bought 45 days before the preferred date.
Train passengers, who will travel using KAI rail services, are also advised to arrive early at the station or at least an hour before departure.
