Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia added 468 daily COVID-19 cases on Monday, taking the total number of cases reported in the country since March 2020 to 6,716,592, the COVID-19 Handling Task Force reported.

As per data from the task force, the number of people recovering from COVID-19 rose by 3,212 to reach 6,538,568.

The data showed that Jakarta contributed the most additional daily cases with 137 patients, followed by West Java (127), East Java (47), Banten (44), and Central Java (30).

Meanwhile, West Java recorded the highest number of recoveries at 2,145, followed by Jakarta (376), Central Java (99), Banten (96), and East Java (90).

The data also showed that 14 patients succumbed to COVID-19 on Friday, taking the COVID-19 death toll to 160,551.

Coordinator of expert team and government spokesperson for COVID-19 handling, Prof. Wiku Adisasmito, said that public awareness of health protocols is key to keeping the COVID-19 caseload low.

The COVID-19 pandemic is still on so the public need to take personal and collective responsibilities to maintain health.
