"By the end of this year, we can operate 18 bus stops out of the total 46 revitalized stops," TransJakarta's Technical and Digital Director Mohamad Indrayana remarked here on Wednesday.
Indrayana noted that four of the 18 revitalized stops -- Sarinah, Bundaran HI, Tosari, and Dukuh Atas -- had become new icons of the capital city.
Moreover, TransJakarta stops that are integrated with the Commuter Line (KRL) stations, include Cikoko - Cawang, Jatinegara, Matraman Baru, and Juanda.
On Wednesday, TransJakarta reopened the operation of the integrated bus stop "Jatinegara Station 2" in East Jakarta.
"Today, we start the first operation of the Jatinegara 2 Station stop that connects with the Jatinegara Train Station," Indrayana remarked.
The revitalized bus stops prioritize customers' comfort by providing several facilities, such as musalla or small room for worship, toilets, retail areas, and other facilities that are accessible for persons with disabilities.
According to Indrayana, the work to revitalize these bus stops took six months in stages, and some trials were conducted since December 22.
For 2023, TransJakarta targeted to complete the work on 54 bus stops that are ready to be operated to facilitate public mobility.
"By the end of 2023, we target 72 out of 200 stops to be completely revitalized," Indrayana stated.
Meanwhile, PT TransJakarta has allocated a budget worth Rp600 billion for the revitalization project of 46 stops in 2022.
"We hope that (the project) is complete before the third quarter is over," TransJakarta President Director Mochammad Yana Aditya remarked after a meeting with the Jakarta Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD).
With the new bus stops, his party is optimistic of no further passenger buildups occurring during peak hours, both in the morning and evening.
