"It decreases 1.10 percent as compared to the exports in November 2021," Chief of BPS Margo Yuwono stated during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.
He noted that non-oil and gas exports had reached US$22.35 billion in December 2022, increasing by 4.99 percent as compared to non-oil exports in December 2021, albeit decreased by 2.73 percent from November 2022.
Cumulatively, Indonesia's export value from January to December 2022 reached US$291.98 billion, or an increase of 26.07 percent as compared to the same period in 2021.
Meanwhile, non-oil and gas exports reached US$275.96 billion, or an increase of 25.80 percent.
The largest decline in non-oil and gas exports in December 2022 as compared to November 2022 was recorded in mineral fuel commodities, at US$483.1 million, or 9.44 percent, while the biggest increase was registered in nickel and goods, at US$220 million, or 41.50 percent.
Non-oil and gas exports of processing industry products from January to December 2022 increased by 16.45 percent as compared to the same period in 2021. Similarly, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries exports increased by 10.52 percent, while the exports of mining products and others increased by 71.22 percent.
"The biggest non-oil and gas export in December 2022 was to China, that is 5.79 billion dollars, followed by Japan, which is 2.08 billion dollars, and USA, which is 2.06 billion dollars, with the contribution from all three countries reaching 44.39 percent," Margo stated.
On the other hand, exports to the ASEAN and the European Union, with 27 countries, reached 4.28 billion dollars and 1.64 billion dollars.
According to the province of origin of the goods, Indonesia's biggest exports during the period from January to December 2022 had been recorded from West Java, with a value of 38.59 billion dollars (13.22 percent), followed by East Kalimantan, with 36.46 billion dollars (12.49 percent), and East Java, with 24.75 billion dollars (8.48 percent).
