This was conveyed by President Jokowi during his remark at the opening of the 2023 Ministry of Defense Leaders Meeting at the Ministry of Defense office in Jakarta, Wednesday, as stated by Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto.
“Earlier the president conveyed the world situation as full of uncertainty, and we must be prepared for all possibilities,” Subianto remarked after accompanying the president.
On the same occasion, the head of state also noted that in the midst of this uncertainty, Indonesia received recognition from the world for various achievements both in the economic field and in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
These achievements have become a source of strength for Indonesia in anticipating the uncertainty that still overshadows the global situation, he affirmed.
Nevertheless, the president reminded that Indonesia must remain vigilant and instructed the Defense Ministry to become the coordinator in anticipating all possibilities.
"The president asked us to be vigilant. We must synergize with all elements. President Jokowi also asked our ministry to become a coordinator for anticipating all possibilities in the future," he remarked.
In addition, Subianto stated that the 2023 meeting of the Ministry of Defense was held with the main agenda of conveying the doctrines of strategic documents on general national defense policies, state strategy, and strength building.
"The Defense Ministry formulated it then we submit it to the Indonesia Defense Forces (TNI) Commander to all Chief of Staffs of the Indonesian Air Force, Indonesian Army, and the Indonesian Navy to implement it. Today, we gather to deliver it and then review it. This is quite a long process," Subianto stated.
After giving directions at the opening of the 2023 Ministry of Defense Leaders Meeting, President Jokowi also named the domestically produced tactical vehicle as "Maung" in the courtyard of the Ministry of Defense Office complex.
