"I am keen to maintain the solidity of the cabinet. I was once the TNI (Indonesian Defense Forces) commander and had the proper experience for such a task. I hope my colleagues in the media will also help maintain (conditions) in these years of politics," Moeldoko noted, as per the statement received Monday.
While receiving executives of the Indonesian Journalists Association's (PWI's) Jakarta branch at the Bina Graha Building here, Monday, Moeldoko stated that his office's duty is the same as the mass media, which is to ensure residents receive balanced information on strategic issues amid the influx of hoax and disinformation.
"Facing this situation, we must have colleagues to maintain public issues together. Hence, I welcome Jakarta's PWI intention to synergize with the KSP," he remarked.
At the 30-minute meeting, Moeldoko also recounted his experience in facing the media in his early days of serving in the KSP.
"In the first three months in the KSP, I was overwhelmed while facing journalists because they inquired about almost anything, but I am now fully adept at the duty," Moeldoko remarked.
Meanwhile, Jakarta PWI Chairperson Sayid Iskandarsyah stated that his side is ready to synergize and collaborate with the KSP, particularly in communicating about the president and the vice president's duties and strategic issues to the public.
"Considering the burden of duties of the KSP, Jakarta PWI is ready to cooperate in disseminating (information on) government programs and works through the Presidential Staff Office," Iskandarsyah stated.
