Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Home Affairs Ministry expressed its commitment to consistently bringing about improvements in public services ahead of the 2024 general election.

"(This) includes pushing for integration and digitization of population data with other services," director general of population and civil registration at the Home Affairs Ministry Zudan Arif Fakrulloh said in a written statement received here on Thursday.

Fakrulloh made the statement during a national coordination meeting on population and civil registration by the Home Affairs Ministry on February 8-10, 2023, in Manado, North Sulawesi.

He stated that the Home Affairs Ministry relentlessly pursues efforts in the form of creating innovations and bringing about consistent improvements in a bid to improve population administration services.

The national coordination meeting aims to optimize the actual measures taken by apparatuses of the population and civil registration department in a bid to improve the quality of population administration services and develop the digitization of population administration to facilitate public services.

The measures also comprise efforts to promote integration and digitization of population data with public services as well as provide accurate population data, so that the 2024 general election is held accordingly, he remarked.

Fakrulloh highlighted that to date, the Home Affairs Ministry had successfully conducted scanning for 99.37 percent of the electronic identity cards, or some 199,781,570; issued 97.86 percent of birth certificates, or some 78,138,395; created 48.82 percent of the children's identity cards, or some 37,394,318; assisted 5,371 institutions in utilizing population data for central and regional public services; and made 307,379 Funeral Staple Books (BPP), in addition to several other services.

"We have also improved the quality of the population and civil registration human resources, so that they can achieve various awards and commendation from various national and international institutions," he concluded.
