Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Social Affairs held a training for the New Generation Social Prosperity Information System (SIKS-NG) operators at the regional government level to improve the quality of integrated data management.

This training is expected to aid in improving the operators' competence in processing and presenting valid data for institutions that need them, Head of the Padang Social Prosperity Education and Training Center (BBPPKS) Hasim explained.

This step aims to support the effort to alleviate the poverty rate, he noted through a written statement on Monday.

The 11th batch of SIKS-NG Technical Training was held at Padang BBPPKS' Campus II in Padang, West Sumatra, on February 22-25, 2023. The participants comprise operators from the city and district as well as provincial governments.

Some 71 people from the Riau Social Office, Riau Islands, and Jambi participated in the training.

The social affairs minister urged her officials that developing credible poverty data did not depend solely on the system but also on the data managers' competence and professionalism, Hasim said.

Through the training, participants are expected to understand the policies and mechanism in managing the Social Prosperity Integrated Data (DTKS) at the Social Office using SIKS-NG, he remarked.

Moreover, the training is expected to make the participants more competent and skilled in using the SIKS-NG application to manage DTKS.

"Participants are also expected to be able to follow up on the results of the training once they return to their respective workplaces," Hasim stated.

In this training, Head of the Social Prosperity Data and Information Center's (Pusdatin Kesos') Administration Mardi Brilian Saleh, representing the head of Pusdatin, delivered materials on policies or regulations related to SIKS-NG and DTKS management.

Participants were not only edified on theories but also given the opportunity to demonstrate and practice what they had learned from the SIKS-NG Application Technical Team from the Pusdatin Kesos.
