Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Ministry of Health has pared down the number of applications serving as sources of the health data reporting system from 400 to just 8 through the Satu Sehat platform.

Satu Sehat is one of the measures that the ministry has undertaken to integrate data from patients' medical records at public health centers (puskesmas) into a single platform called Indonesia Health Services.

The platform is the realization of the sixth pillar of the health system transformation, namely health technology transformation, Deputy Minister for Health, Dante Saksono Harbuwono, confirmed here on Monday.

This has been communicated to all heads of regional health offices, hospital directors, as well as chiefs of public health laboratories, he informed.

"National health system synergy is created to strengthen readiness, anticipation, response, and resilience in facing health threats," he explained.

He made the statement in reference to the many versions of government policy program supporting data in the health sector, which are reported differently by ministries/institutions, regional governments, to professional organizations.

The situation has come about as a result of multilevel data compilation starting from primary services to provinces that use a variety of applications with differing accuracies.

During the data reporting process, many corrections are made at all levels of health services, thus the figures that reach the central government differ from one another.

Earlier, during a “Health Broadcast” event on Monday, the ministry said that the Satu Sehat platform will become the main platform for providing health services to Indonesians in the future.

Deputy chief of the ministry's Digital Transformation Office (DTO), Agus Rachmanto, said that the existence of Satu Sehat would make all parties feel the benefits of a shorter and more comfortable health service.
