Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture is striving incessantly to increase the involvement of members of the community in the National Mental Revolution Movement (GNRM).

"The involvement of the community is indispensable in the implementation of the National Mental Revolution Movement," Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy noted in a statement here on Monday.

Effendy believes it is a challenge to improve the awareness of all parties regarding the importance of the movement.

"To boost the 'echoes' of the GNRM, one of the keys is synergy in the existing programs of ministries and institutions that are designed to involve the community in order to increase public awareness and understanding of the importance of the National Mental Revolution Movement," he stated.

Apart from the community's involvement, all parties should also play an essential role in strengthening the GNRM.

"It needs the collective awareness of all elements of the Penta helix (collaboration), starting from the government, the world of education, community organizations, the world of business, to the mass media," he emphasized.

Effendy affirmed that his ministry continues to take real actions in the GNRM through ways, such as by planting 10 million trees through collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and through the Let's Join Cooperatives Movement along with the Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs.

He also specifically emphasized the importance of strengthening the younger generation's involvement in the GNRM.

The minister assessed that the involvement of youngsters is essential, as they are the nation's future leaders.

"GNRM needs to target the youth because the younger generation will continue Indonesia's leadership in the future," he remarked.

He also noted that in 2023, the movement should strengthen programs that are focused on the way people think, behave, and act.

He further highlighted that the national movement aims to develop the positive mental outlook and character of the younger generation in the country.
