With (the establishment of) the MSME ecosystem, Indonesians’ entrepreneurial spirit will grow and be able to level (the success of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in) developed countries.Jakarta (ANTARA) - Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan has encouraged Indonesians, currently studying in India, to become ambassadors for Indonesian products.
The minister made the speech at a discussion with the Indonesian Student Association (PPI), an organization that links the nation's students that are learning abroad, at the Indonesian Embassy in New Delhi, India, on Monday.
"We have to bolster Indonesian products (as much as is feasible) according to our respective roles. The key is cooperation,” he remarked in a statement here, Tuesday.
The minister appealed to Indonesian students in India to begin promoting Indonesian products by using the products in their day-to-day lives.
Hasan noted that his visit to India aimed at opening new non-traditional markets for Indonesian products.
He assessed that India is a huge potential market, with a population of billions.
"(The development of) new export markets must be increased. Hence, later, I will also visit Bangladesh and Pakistan. To become a developed country in 2045, Indonesia must dominate non-traditional markets," Hasan remarked.
Furthermore, he stated that the government is striving to develop a national entrepreneurial ecosystem, such as by facilitating cooperation among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs); banks; as well as export financing institutions.
The government also helps MSMEs to establish partnerships with modern retailers and marketplaces.
"With (the establishment of) the MSME ecosystem, Indonesians’ entrepreneurial spirit will grow and be able to level (the success of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in) the developed countries," the minister stated.
Director General of National Export Development Didi Sumedi, Director General of International Trade Negotiations at the ministry Djatmiko Bris Witjaksono, as well as Indonesian Ambassador to India Ina Krisnamurthi also attended the event.
