"Mister President asked to convey his best wishes to both of them," Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi noted in her statement after accompanying President Widodo in Jakarta, Tuesday.
The president conveyed his felicitation through the UAE Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
In addition to congratulating the two figures, President Widodo spotlighted the efforts in intensifying economic relations between Indonesia and the UAE. The president expressed hope that the Indonesia-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership (IUAE-CEPA) could be ratified at the earliest.
"Mister President expected that everything will be done by the end of the year," the minister remarked.
Furthermore, Marsudi drew attention to the UAE investment in several infrastructure construction projects in Indonesia in the context of efforts to bolster economic relations.
"He (the president) had some discussion with the UAE Ambassador regarding investment projects, including the port construction process that was expected to be finished soon," she explained.
On the occasion, President Widodo also expressed his willingness to attend the World Climate Action Summit that will take place in December 2023.
"He is keen to attend the World Climate Action Summit that will be held in early December, coinciding with the 52nd anniversary of the unification of all seven emirates into UAE," the minister stated.
