Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia has targeted to become part of the world supply chain in the industrial sector by participating as an official partner country in the 2023 Hannover Messe scheduled on April 17-21.

"Hannover Messe is the right place to promote industrial technology in Indonesia. Our target is to become part of the world supply chain and become part of the top 10 world economies by 2030," Director General of Regional Resilience and International Industrial Access (KPAII) of the Industry Ministry Eko S. A. Cahyanto noted in a statement obtained here Wednesday.

Hannover Messe is one of the largest industrial technology exhibitions in the world that has been held since 1947. It is held every spring at the Hannover Exhibition Center, Lower Saxony, Germany.

Cahyanto drew attention to four main targets for Indonesia at this year's Hannover Messe, with the first being to introduce its vision on the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap.

The second goal is to promote industrial cooperation, he remarked.

The third target is to promote foreign investment and exports, while the fourth goal is to intensify bilateral relations with Germany as the host.

Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics Usman Kansong stated that through Hannover Messe, Indonesia is keen to showcase to the world its potential as a good and promising place to invest.

The flow of investors into Indonesia would create new jobs for the people, Kansong, who is concurrently head of the Promotion and Dissemination Division of the Hannover Messe 2023, remarked.

"The Hannover Messe is a media for foreign investors to collaborate with young Indonesians, who have mastered technology. Indonesia will not only become a consumer but also a producer in technology," he remarked.

Indonesia is the first ASEAN member country to become an official Hannover Messe partner country thrice.

It first got partner country status in 1995. Indonesia then joined the digital edition of the Hannover Messe back in 2019.

Indonesia will bring 157 co-exhibitors to the Indonesian Pavilion to convince potential investors, including business and industry actors, as well as industry associations.

It will also showcase the development of the new capital city Nusantara and promote the concept of special economic zone (KEK) development.
