Jakarta (ANTARA) - The new capital Nusantara city's average development and building construction progress has reached 25 percent, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, Basuki Hadimuljono, has informed.

Responding to journalists' queries at the Presidential Palace complex here on Wednesday, he said that some facilities and utilities developed by the ministry in the new capital include the government core area, ministers' housing, roads, and waste and wastewater management installations, among others.

Adequate information technology has been deployed to monitor the progress of development and ensure that its realization takes place according to plan, the minister added.

"This is the winning design (of the new capital design competition) called ‘Negara Rimba Nusa,’ and how is it now? It has been like this. For instance, the presidential palace development (that we observe) through drone is progressing," Hadimuljono informed while sharing information on the new capital’s development realization and investment opportunities mapping report.

Given the current progress, he said he is optimistic that the government's plan to organize activities in Nusantara city, such as the Independence Day ceremony, by August 2024 could be realized.

Meanwhile, the minister said that President Joko Widodo has instructed him to prepare a detailed map of the new capital to help investors decide on their investment.

The detailed map will describe the locations of housing complexes and vertical housing, the city forest, commercial sites, sporting facilities, health facilities, and other facilities in the new capital, he informed.

The minister said that his ministry has also earmarked sites for investors who have expressed their commitment to invest in the new capital through letters of intent.

"So this is the commercial sites, the yellow one is housing and commercial sites, and the blue one is office sites. The President will examine the (map), and we hope he will visit the new capital site after Eid," Hadimuljono informed while sharing information about the new capital’s map, added.
