Police Public Relations Head Inspector General Sandi Nugroho stated that this meeting was the final one in a series of meetings held to prepare for the 2023 Eid al-Fitr.
"This is the final one, and all related ministers are in attendance," Nugroho remarked.
The ministers in attendance were Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Muhadjir Effendy, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimoeljono, and Religious Affairs Vice Minister Zainut Tauhid Saadi.
Also present at the meeting were Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan, and National Armed Forces Commander Admiral Yudo Margono.
Additionally, several heads and representatives of state institutions such as the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Pertamina, and Jasa Marga, were in attendance.
During the meeting, all related ministries and institutions presented reports on their respective levels of readiness and plan scenarios for Eid in the context of security, order, and traffic flow.
Since the beginning of the holy month Ramadhan, the government has been assuring the public regarding the readiness of supporting facilities and infrastructures to enable them to plan their mudik accordingly.
Earlier, the government had forecast that approximately 124 million people would join this year's Eid mudik, a two-fold increase from 85 million last year.
