Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned oil company Pertamina has prepared a mobile service to serve the fuel needs of homecoming travelers plying the Java South Coast Route (Pansela) during the Eid al-Fitr exodus.

Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono conveyed the information during a working meeting with Commission V of the House of Representatives in Jakarta on Tuesday.

"Pertamina will provide Pertamina mobile service to serve fuel needs along the Pansela route," the minister said.

The South Coast Route, ahead of this year's Eid homecoming, is in very good condition, he added.

"We want to emphasize that Pansela is in very good condition," he stated.

Earlier, Hadimuljono said that the Pansela Route is expected to become a tourist route for the southern coastal region and ensure connectivity to the southern part of Java Island and reduce the traffic burden on the Java North Coast Road (Pantura).

The minister has continued to promote the route since it has beautiful scenery and several tourist objects.

The route stretches across five provinces of Java Island. It comprises the 169.5-kilometer Labuhan Intersection-West Java Border section in Banten province and the 417.1-km section from Banten-Sindang Barang border to the Central Java border.

It also includes the sections in Central Java Province starting at the border of West Java-Congot-Duwet-Glonggong and spanning 212.5 kilometers, followed by the 120.8-km Karang Nongko-Legundi-Duwet route in Yogyakarta Province, and the 628.39-km Panggul-Sendangbiru-Jarit-Puger-Glenmore section in East Java Province.

The minister stated that the handling of the Pansela Route is being carried out through the construction of new roads, road preservation or maintenance activities, rehabilitation, road and bridge reconstruction, and road widening according to standards, which will be sustained to maintain the condition of roads.
