"Today's meeting is a follow-up of the president's statements and to fulfill the mandate of Article 96 of Law Number 13 of 2022 concerning the Formation of Legislation regarding meaningful public participation," the secretary general of the Ministry of Manpower Anwar Sanusi noted in a statement received by ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.
Sanusi remarked that the aspirations would be accommodated to align with President Joko Widodo's request to the manpower minister to immediately coordinate and consult with the House of Representatives (DPR) and all relevant stakeholders.
He also noted that the government would then take into account these aspirations from relevant stakeholders during the process of forming the Domestic Workers' Bill.
Hence, at the forum to accommodate the aspirations, its side is optimistic that the stakeholders would give suggestions on the Domestic Workers' Bill in accordance with a real-life situation, so that in future, the bill would protect the profession of the domestic worker.
"The ministry is open to receiving any inputs, feedback, and suggestion from all parties, either directly or indirectly, for the forming of this bill," Sanusi remarked.
