Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned oil company PT Pertamina (Persero) has prepared 402 motorcycle drivers for delivering fuel oil to vehicles trapped in traffic jams, including on toll roads.

Those who run out of fuel oil during a traffic jam can use the Pertamina Delivery Service (PDS) by contacting the call center number 135, corporate communication vice president at Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, said in a statement released on Thursday.

"Next, motorcycle drivers will head toward the location while bringing fuel oil," he added.

He said that the motorcycle drivers will reach the vehicles that have run out of fuel in less than 10–15 minutes under the guard of security officials. The drivers already have permits for delivering fuel oil, even on toll roads.

"We have already done this for the last few years and this year, there are 402 motorcycle drivers, almost twice the number of drivers from the previous year," Santoso informed.

Pertamina has urged homecomers purchasing fuel oil to use the cashless payment system to reduce queues at gas stations, he added.

This is because the increasing number of vehicles during the homecoming flow on a number of roads, both toll and non-toll roads, would affect the number of vehicles filling up fuel at gas stations.

"We urge homecomers to use cashless payment while purchasing fuel oil. This can facilitate gas station workers so that they do not have to prepare change, thus the service can be quicker," he explained.

According to Pertamina, cashless payments can be done through the MyPertamina application, which also offers promotions that customers can opt for.

Pertamina is committed to providing the best service to the public, specifically during Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr 1444 H.

"People are advised not to worry about fuel oil supply because we have ensured that it is safe," Santoso said.

"Pertamina has also urged people who experience a problem concerning fuel oil and LPG to contact the call center 135 to receive further information," he said.
