Kupang (ANTARA) - The Regional Police of East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT) stated that all series of this year's Eid al-Fitr celebrations in the archipelagic province had gone safely and smoothly.

"Everything ran safely and smoothly, without any problems," Head of Public Relations at the NTT Police Grand Commissioner Ariasandy stated in Kupang, Monday.

Ariasandy delivered the statement in the context of the recent situation in NTT after Muslims celebrated this year's Eid al-Fitr.

The former head of South Central Timor Resort Police gave credit to all related parties that worked in synergy to ensure the safe running of all series of Eid al-Fitr celebrations starting from the takbir eve to the first and second days of the holiday.

According to Ariasandy, apart from security apparatuses, all NTT residents, including those of different faiths, partook in maintaining security, so that a conducive situation could be established.

"We should maintain this situation to uphold conduciveness in our province," he added.

Earlier, NTT Police Chief Inspector General Johanis Asadoma urged all residents in the province to continue to maintain interfaith tolerance that has been well-preserved up to this point.

"Let us all maintain the good level of interfaith tolerance that has been established," he emphasized.

Asadoma affirmed that all NTT residents, regardless of their race, ethnicity, and religion, should be able to celebrate and feel the joyful occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

Asadoma also praised youths of various beliefs in Kupang City that have maintained security and comfort to ensure the smooth running of the takbir eve.
