"The flight plan for April 24, 2023, showed that data was updated until 21:30 local time, with a total of 65,858 passengers arriving," said Senior Manager of Branch Communication and Legal at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, M. Holik Muwardi.
On the D+2 of Eid on Monday, Muwardi noted that 53,918 passengers would arrive via Terminal 3, 53,064 passengers would arrive via Terminal 2, and 23,416 passengers would arrive via Terminal 1.
In addition, he stated that 64,540 passengers would depart from the airport, bringing the total number of passengers at Soetta Airport on Monday to 130,398.
Meanwhile, in terms of the air traffic, his side reported that there would be 919 flights on D+2 of Eid or an increase compared to a total of 817 flights in 2022.
Out of the 919 flights, 466 flights were for departure and 453 flights for arrival comprising 393 flights at Terminal 3, 359 flights at Terminal 2, 152 flights at Terminal 1, and 15 flights of cargo planes, he stated.
Muwardi said that his side is optimistic that the number of passengers and flight traffic would increase during the 2023 Eid homecoming, compared to the achievements in 2022, in line with the revocation of the community mobility restriction (PPKM) earlier this year.
"We had predicted a 20 to 30 percent increase in passengers and an increase in flight traffic of 10 percent to 15 percent during the 2023 Eid homecoming period," he stated.
Moreover, the Soetta Airport Eid Homecoming Post recorded that on D+1 of Eid, or April 23, a total of 121,408 passengers were departing and arriving at the airport, an increase from 100,844 passengers recorded in 2022.
This figure comprised 66,397 people departing and 55,011 people arriving at Soetta Airport, Muwardi stated.
