Jakarta (ANTARA) - Main Expert at the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Fajar Dwi Wisnu Wardhani affirmed that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is always heedful of workers' needs and continues to build in-depth communication with them.

"In the process of amending the Job Creation Law, the president is very concerned about the communication and coordination process as well as absorbing the aspirations of all elements, including workers," Wardhani noted in a written statement received here, Monday.

In addition, he noted that the president has always been attentive to workers, as they are the main element in development.

According to Wardhani, President Jokowi is also highly concerned about labor unions and striving to meet their needs in order to maintain the implementation of the national development plan. This is apparent from the issuance of regulations related to the protection and improvement of the competence of workers or laborers.

He cited the examples of the issuance of Presidential Instruction Number 2 of 2021 on Social Security for Workers, Presidential Regulation Number 68 of 2022 on capacity building through revitalization of vocational education and training, and Law Number 18 of 2017 on Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers.

"Currently, the government is preparing protective regulation for the Protection of Domestic Workers (PPRT)," Wardhani noted.

He observed that workers currently have a significant role in politics. For this matter, he expected them to help maintain stability and balance, especially in the 2023-2024 political year.

“Any efforts made to promote the interests of workers should be conveyed properly and coordinated. We will guard together the stability of this political year," he stated.

Wardhani also emphasized the importance of workers and labor unions to increase solidarity and prosperity. Workers are also encouraged to play a more important role in maintaining social, economic, political, and investment stability in Indonesia.
