"All delegates must be fully vaccinated and register on SatuSehat," Deputy Health Minister Dante Saksono Harbuwono stated in a dialogue titled "The Readiness to Conduct the 2023 ASEAN Summit" in Jakarta, Friday.
SatuSehat is a digital platform in Indonesia that is used to register health data and COVID-19 vaccination records.
Harbuwono said that at the airport entrance, relevant officers will check the body temperature through a health screening.
If the body temperature is above 37.5 degrees Celsius, delegates will undergo an RT-PCR test, except for VIP guests, who will receive different treatment procedures, he added.
To ensure that no COVID-19 transmission occurs during the event, all delegates must fill out digital forms on SatuSehat, which can be downloaded to their phones.
He noted that SatuSehat is only required for delegates and not for the head of the delegation.
According to Harbuwono, the Ministry of Health also imposes antigen test requirements for foreign travelers, with a validity period of 24 hours, and a maximum of 72 hours for PCR tests from the departure from the origin country.
The ministry also recommends all delegates wear masks while in the room.
He said that his ministry is working with several private hospitals and the local government to deploy 40 swab officers.
He said that COVID-19 testing provision can reach more than 1,200 tests per day.
The ministry had also prepared several important aspects of the procedure for handling COVID-19, including conducting antigen tests for all hotel employees.
From May 6, 2023, the ministry will implement 1x24 hour antigen checks for hotel employees, who will be isolated and not allowed to return home, to ensure that hotel services continue to align with safe protocols.
The 42nd ASEAN Summit is scheduled to take place on May 9-11, 2023. The series of activities will begin with the arrival of the delegation to Labuan Bajo on May 6, 2023.
On May 7-8, delegates will attend meetings, followed by the arrival of ASEAN regional 13 heads of states in Labuan Bajo on May 9.
The main agenda for the 42nd ASEAN Summit starts on May 10-11, 2023, at the Meruorah Hotel, which is the venue for this year's summit.
