Phnom Penh, Cambodia (ANTARA) - The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, is providing logistical support to the Indonesian contingent that is participating in the 2023 SEA Games in the country.

The embassy's chargé d'affaires ad interim, Lauti Nia Astri, said that the assistance is the embassy’s expression of support to Indonesian athletes competing in the games.

"This is the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh's form of support to the Indonesian team, from athletes, officials, and others who are fighting to make the flag of Indonesia fly and Indonesia Raya resound as often as possible at the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia," Astri said in a statement released here on Wednesday.

The embassy and all Indonesian nationals in Cambodia are praying for the best results from the Indonesian contingent in the Southeast Asia-wide competition, she added.

Astri said that the embassy is intensely coordinating with the Indonesian National Olympics Committee (NOC) and the Chef de Mission (CdM) to ensure that all members of the Indonesian contingent face no issues during their stay in Cambodia.

"We are always communicating with each other since earlier. We sent letters and organized online meetings so we know how the Indonesian team readied itself for the 32nd SEA Games, primarily from the CdM himself, Mr. Lexyndo Hakim," the embassy official said.

Astri, who is also serving as the embassy's head of chancery, observed that extra preparations are needed since this edition's SEA Games is Cambodia's first as a host.

"The Cambodian authority earlier invited all ASEAN representatives here to observe the venues and other locations. We then asked questions and received inputs from them, which we reported to the CdM," she informed.

Meanwhile, Chef de Mission Hakim expressed gratitude for the Indonesian embassy's support for the Indonesian contingent. He said that the embassy has consistently supported all needs of the Indonesian team.

Hakim added that the embassy's strict monitoring of the Indonesian contingent will positively affect the team's success at the SEA Games.

"The embassy also strictly monitors us who represent Indonesia in Cambodia. The CdM team also maintains communication and discussion so we can have solutions to every issue we face, with the assistance of our embassy here," the Chef de Mission stated. (INE)
