we encourage all teachers and school management in Jakarta to focus on the development of AI and other digital technology
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Education Office on Monday held digital literacy training for teachers and principals amid the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

"In the school sector, we encourage all teachers and school management in Jakarta to focus on the development of AI and other digital technology," Deputy Head of the Jakarta Education Office Purwosusilo stated here on Monday.

According to Purwosusilo, rapid advancements in technology can replace human jobs, but this training is focused on the positive side of AI utilization in the field of education.

The training involved practitioners and professors to help develop Indonesia's education sector.

During the training, practitioners shared insights on AI, challenges of implementing digital literacy, the use of information technology, and the modern education ecosystem.

The panelists were optimistic of having provided the latest knowledge on AI implementation in education for the participants.

"We want to improve the ability of teachers first and then to encourage students to have digital skills. The smartest people are those who can keep up with developments, and now, digitalization is very necessary," Purwosusilo remarked.

On the same occasion, the office's head of junior and senior high school, Putoyo, affirmed that AI can have a positive impact on the world of education.

However, school administrators should be able to adapt and direct students to use AI technology positively, he emphasized.

"In future, there will be many activities that humans no longer need to do, as we can be assisted by AI, but teachers must direct students on how to respond and innovate in this situation," he explained.

The digital training, titled "Implementation of Digital Literacy for Future Education," involved a private party and was attended by 300 teachers and principals in Jakarta.
