Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture highlighted the importance of the family's role in supporting sustainable human resource development (HR) programs.

"Each family has a very strategic role in building superior and quality human resources," the Ministry's Expert Staff for Sustainable Development Agus Suprapto stated in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He explained that the role of the family encompasses efforts to ensure a healthy and prosperous life to optimize children's growth and development.

"One way to support a sustainable HR development program is to determine and plan the number of family members for couples in the childbearing age," Suprapto stated.

In addition, maintaining children's health from an early age is important to avoid them from experiencing stunting, he remarked.

"Moreover, parents should provide complete basic immunization as an optimal protection for toddlers as well as getting used to (following) clean and healthy living behavior," Suprapto remarked.

He also noted that in an effort to create superior and quality human resources, families should prioritize religious education and character education.

"Teach children about religious teachings, manners, basic skills, and optimal intellectual abilities," he emphasized.

Suprapto noted that his side continues to improve the dissemination of information and education regarding the importance of a sustainable HR development program in order to create a quality future generation to welcome the demographic bonus and welcome Golden Indonesia in 2045.

"The ministry also encourages all stakeholders, especially families, to play an active role in sustainable HR development programs," he stated.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy, outlined three strategies that should be optimized continuously to support HR development.

He remarked that the three strategies are access to basic services and social protection, increased productivity, and character building.

According to the minister, the three human resource development strategies are crucial to realize productive, skilled, superior, competitive, and virtuous human resources.
