Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) on Tuesday announced that it will hold a cybersecurity and technology seminar, “National Cybersecurity Connect 2023 (NCSC 2023),” in collaboration with several parties later this year.

The seminar will be organized in collaboration with Naganaya Indonesia, the National Informatics and Communication Technology Businessmen Association (APTIKNAS), and the Indonesian Industry Digital Transformation Council (WANTRII).

As per data released by the BSSN, there were one billion cyberattacks in Indonesia in 2022. This threat served as the basis for organizing the NCSC 2023 to discuss cybersecurity in various national sectors, including business.

Cyberattacks are not only threatening Southeast Asia, but also the world. The national cybersecurity campaign raised the public's awareness on the importance of cybersecurity, BSSN official Sulistyo said.

NCSC 2023, entitled “Get Ready to Face Future Cyber Threats,” is expected to become a platform for the gathering and exchange of knowledge through a panel discussion with 35 experts, which will target five thousand participants.

The seminar will be held on October 25 and 26, 2023, at Bidakara Tower, South Jakarta. It will also showcase the latest technologies and solutions related to cybersecurity that can help the public and the business sector.

The sectors include government, banking, insurance, e-commerce, telecommunications, oil and gas, retail, media, education, health, and logistics.

The electronic systems industry, which includes AI (artificial intelligence), has continued to grow. However, it has become more urgent to ensure that electronic-based systems are safe to use, Sulistyo said.

"Not just for electronic systems that belong to the government, but also the private sector and businessmen," he added.

Digital technology has been found to be very important for creating effectiveness and efficiency in every aspect of life, and specifically in socioeconomic improvement.

In 2022, the Indonesian government committed to continuing several important strategies to recover the national economy and ensure growth of up to five percent.

However, high economic growth could invite many crimes, specifically in the field of cybersecurity. NCSC 2023 is expected to provide solutions to this issue.
