The planned construction of the BLKs is a part of the government's efforts to improve human resource capacity and quality, with a special focus on supporting the relocation of the capital city from Jakarta to parts of North Penajam Paser and Kutai Kartanegara Districts in East Kalimantan Province.
The ministry has given the green light to the construction of two BLKs in the region, which is also known as Benuo Taka, specifically in Penajam and Babulu Sub-districts, North Penajam Paser District Head Hamdam Pongrewa informed in Penajam on Wednesday.
According to Pongrewa, the two BLKs will serve as places for conducting different training programs for local residents in the hope of improving the human resource capacity in the district.
He added that the BLK in Penajam Sub-district will provide training programs related to engineering, information and technology, and construction. Meanwhile, the BLK in Babulu Sub-district will provide training in the fields of agriculture and related sectors.
However, this year, the ministry will initially prioritize building the BLK in Penajam Sub-district, he said adding that the district government is currently preparing the BLK’s construction site on five hectares of land, which will then be granted to the ministry.
The designated site for the BLK in Penajam Sub-district is in Nipah-Nipah Village or in the vicinity of the seat of the North Penajam Paser District government.
Of the five hectares, two hectares have been stipulated, while the process for designating the remaining land is still on.
"In the first stage, the construction requires five hectares of land, and we are currently preparing the location designation process. Later, we will formulate a grant draft for the Manpower Ministry as the party who will build the BLKs," Pongrewa informed.
