Despite having a busy schedule at the LIMA 2023, he still managed to meet with Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto in a casual chat session, PM Ibrahim stated as quoted from his social media account, accessed in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.
According to Ibrahim, in the approximately one-hour-long meeting on Tuesday (May 23) evening, he and Minister Subianto discussed several issues of mutual interest, including those related to the relations between both countries and between them and the other regional actors.
The relationship between these two brother countries will hopefully continue to be closely fostered, he affirmed.
Malaysian Defense Minister Mohammad Hasan, Malaysian Foreign Affairs Minister Zambry Abdul Kadir, and Indonesian delegates were also present at the meeting.
Earlier, PM Ibrahim attended a Fleet Review aboard Trengganu patrol ship to take salute of the sailors aboard each ship partaking in the maritime event of the LIMA 2023.
LIMA is the biggest biennial maritime and aerospace exhibition scheduled for odd years on the Langkawi Island, Kedah, Malaysia. In 2023, the exhibition marked its 16th edition, with 525 participants representing 140 companies from various countries.
The earlier edition of LIMA was held in 2019 prior to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. This year's edition is considered to be the biggest one so far, taking place on May 23-27 at the Langkawi International Convention Centre (LICC).
Several countries, including Indonesia, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, and Thailand, are participating in the aerial show session.
