Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy for Human Resources for Science and Technology at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Edy Giri Rachman Putra, has said that the government will launch the National Talent Management (MTN) program.

"There are three areas that will be the focus: the first will be the field of innovation research, which will be coordinated by BRIN; the field of arts and culture will be under the Ministry of Education and Culture; and the field of sports will be under the Ministry of Sports," he said.

He made the remarks during a discussion on "Building an Education Road Map in Indonesia: Improving the Quality of Education and Human Resources" at the Alumni Connect event organized by the World Indonesian Students' Association (PPI Dunia) in Jakarta on Saturday.

Through MTN, it is expected that many talents will grow to help realize the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045, he said.

He added that in the future, there will be many talents who are expected to win medals at the Olympics, as well as promote arts and culture.

The places where talents gather are universities, in the form of students and lecturers, he said.

"Not to mention the researchers in the community and in the private sector that we need to invite and synergize with, and the most important thing is the (Indonesian) diaspora," he said.

Under the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision, Indonesia is seeking to become a developed nation by 2045, when it marks 100 years of its independence.

On December 10, 2021, President Joko Widodo issued Presidential Decree (Keppres) No. 21 of 2021 concerning the National Talent Management Task Force.

The aim of the task force is to prepare talented and globally competitive human resources.

Comprehensive, sustainable, and innovative management and development of national talent are needed through breakthrough policies.
