Ambassador of Indonesia to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Husin Bagis, stated that during these two weeks in Jakarta, the Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi will facilitate various interests in trade, investment, employment and the economy, according to a statement received here on Thursday.
Moreover, he remarked that the Indonesian Embassy will also facilitate the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry meetings with several key companies in Indonesia.
Dubai International Chamber, one of the three chambers operating under Dubai Chambers, has inaugurated a new international representative office in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Tuesday (June 6, 2023).
Dubai International Chamber is one of the three chambers operating under Dubai Chambers. It was established to strengthen partnerships with global corporations, investors, and entrepreneurs as well as to boost Dubai’s status as a major trading hub.
The launch in Jakarta brings the chamber’s total number of global offices to 18 across Africa, Latin America, Eurasia, India, and China.
“Dubai Chamber Representative Office is expected to contribute positively to increasing economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in trade and investment,” Bagis affirmed.

The Dubai Chamber delegation, led by Vice President for International Relations, Hassan Al Hashemi, stated that Indonesia has vast potential to partner with Dubai companies in working on markets in the Middle East and Africa.
"The potential is enormous, so we hope that the representative office that will be opened can be used by companies in both countries," he explained.
The Ministry of Trade of Indonesia recorded the value of trade between the two countries to have reached US$4 billion, while the Ministry of Investment recorded in the last five years that the UAE has contributed US$231 million in investment.
Last year, Indonesia and the UAE signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), heralding a new era of strategic cooperation. The agreement aims to enhance bilateral trade between the two countries and increase its total value, from around US$3 billion in 2021 to US$10 billion annually within five years.
The two nations have eliminated or will gradually reduce tariffs for almost 99 percent of their commonly traded commodities.
