What we ban in imports is the same as in wholesale warehouses, if it is in retail we will still give it a chance
Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA) - Acting Director General of Consumer Protection and Order of Commerce (PKTN) of the Ministry of Trade Moga Simatupang has said that a draft of a presidential regulation regarding controlled and prohibited goods for domestic trade is being discussed.

This is in response to the increasing sale of imported used clothing through social media and local markets.

"This is still being finalized, in relation to the Draft Presidential Regulation on goods that are controlled and prohibited from being traded domestically," said Simatupang, when met after destroying illegally imported goods in Tangerang City, Banten on Friday.

According to Simatupang, the presidential regulation is in the process of being drafted at the State Secretariat.

Currently, regulations regarding controlled and prohibited goods for domestic trade still require further corrections.

"The process has arrived at the State Secretariat, but there are still points that are being corrected by several ministries/agencies," he said.

Simatupang added that basically traders are allowed to sell used goods. However, imported used products are prohibited, in accordance with Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 18 of 2021, as amended by Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 40 of 2022 concerning Amendments to Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 18 of 2021 concerning Export Prohibited Goods and Import Prohibited Goods.

"What we ban in imports is the same as in wholesale warehouses, if it is in retail we will still give it a chance," he said.
