Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's participation in the 2023 Hannover Messe has successfully driven six companies to invest a total of US$800 million in the Wiraraja Industrial Park in Kabil, Batam City, Riau Islands Province.

Industry Ministry's Director General for Regional Resilience and International Industrial Access Eko Cahyanto stated that the success in drawing the investment was inseparable from Indonesia's participation as a partner country in the 2023 Hannover Messe.

"Next, the Industry Ministry will continue to push for promotion and acceleration of the realization of the entry of foreign investments into Indonesia," Cahyanto noted in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

The six companies are PT Apollo Solar Indonesia, PT Marubeni Global Indonesia, PT Tynergy Technology Group, PT Wiraraja Yunan International, PT Alpha Solar Indonesia, and Jaya Electrical Energy. The investments are projected to create job vacancies for around 13 thousand people.

Furthermore, he attributed the success story to the support provided by various stakeholders, including the Indonesian Consulate General in Los Angeles that coordinated with the ministry to facilitate Tynergy's plan to invest in Indonesia.

While attending the "Grand Opening of Six Companies" event in Batam on June 5, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that Indonesia is one of the most successful G20 countries in terms of economic recovery.

In the first quarter of 2023, Indonesia's economy grew by 5.03 percent on a year-on-year (yoy) basis. The success serves as proof of the country's capability of adeptly handling impacts of the pandemic, he affirmed.

"The Grand Opening of Six Companies at the Wiraraja Industrial Park constitutes one of the crucial moments for Indonesia in its efforts to recover its economy after the COVID-19 pandemic as well as to accelerate the enhancement of industrial competitiveness and the national economic growth," the minister remarked.

In addition, the decision of the six companies to invest in Indonesia is a result of the government's commitment to promoting the country's investment potentials and providing ease to investors.

In his speech, Hartarto also reiterated that the government is providing various promising incentives, including tax holiday, tax allowance, import duty exemption, and super tax deduction, with the aim of attracting business actors to invest in Indonesia.
