Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia is aiming to attract investors while serving as partner country in the industry fair Hannover Messe 2023, Communication and Informatics Ministry's Public Information and Communication Director General Usman Kansong stated.

The biggest industry fair in Europe offers a large opportunity to attract investors to Indonesia, he noted through a press statement on Monday.

"We expect that there will be more investment from other countries, from German and European countries specifically," he noted at the Hannover Fairground, Hannover, Germany, Sunday.

According to Kansong, several parties had already committed to investing in Indonesia before the Hannover Messe 2023 was opened.

"There had been commitment of around Rp30 trillion (US$2.03 billion) to invest in Indonesia, and Insya Allah (God willing), the figure will continue to increase," he remarked.

The Indonesia Pavilion in Hannover Messe 2023 showcased the Pinisi Boat. According to Kansong, the Pinisi Boat depicts Indonesia's journey toward advancement through investment and technological developments.

Indonesia participates by raising the theme of "Infinite Journey," showcasing various technological innovations at the Indonesia Pavilion, including those from the government, educational institutions, and several domestic corporations.

Meanwhile, the Industry Ministry's official, Eko Cahyanto, stated that the participation in Hannover Messe 2023 aims to transform Indonesia to rank among one of the 10 countries with the largest economy in the world by 2030.

Indonesia's participation is also an effort to realize the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.

Cahyanto expects that the Hannover Messe 2023 can attract more investment to Indonesia.

"Indonesia Pavilion was constructed glamorously to attract the fair's participants and visitors," he stated.

This year is the third time that Indonesia has become a partner country in Hannover Messe. Indonesia earlier became a partner country in 1995 and 2021.

At the Indonesia Pavilion, apart from the opening event, there are also events, such as the Business Summit, Indonesia Night, and six discussion sessions with various themes.
