The coordination meeting is facilitated by the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Ministry of Communication and Informatics' (Kemenkominfo's) official Arief Tri Hardiyanto stated here on Sunday local time.
He noted that the Kemenkominfo will invite representatives from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Ministry of Health, regional governments, police and military tomorrow.
They will identify service points that the country currently needs to make them a priority for the preparation of the ground segment, he revealed.
He also explained that the coordination meeting was conducted, as SATRIA-1 is moving toward its orbit after being launched.
After the priority points are agreed upon, the Indonesian government will install the ground segment or satellite internet signal receiver at those points first.
SATRIA-1 was successfully launched into space using the rocket owned by the aerospace company SpaceX from Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex SLC 40, Florida, the US, on Sunday at 6:21 p.m. local time.
The satellite has a capacity of 150 Gbps and is intended to provide internet services in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions.
Internet access is specifically intended for public facilities, such as hospitals, public health centers (puskesmas), schools, government offices in villages to sub-districts and security facilities, such as in police and military offices.
For the first stage of the operation, the plan is to have around two thousand to three thousand points served by SATRIA-1. Within the next two to three years, the satellite is planned to provide internet access in 50 thousand public service facilities in 3T regions.
