Padang (ANTARA) - Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Minister and National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Head Hadi Tjahjanto distributed certificates of waqf land and the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) Program to residents in Padang City, West Sumatra.

Today, the minister said, the government, through the ATR/BPN Ministry, is striving to succeed in the implementation of the revolutionary program in the hopes of realizing the dream of those, who have long been waiting for issuance of the certificates.

"I directly handed over (the land certificates) and the residents were satisfied, as they had been waiting for a very long time," the former chief commander of the Indonesian Defense Forces remarked.

Mushola, or prayer room, administrators in Tarantang Village, Lubuk Kilangan Sub-district, had been waiting for some 15 years for the certificate of the worship place.

On the occasion, the former Navy Chief of Staff also invited the mass media to partake in facilitating the government's efforts by conducting coverage of uncertified waqf lands, so the ministry can help issue the certificates.

"We, from ATR/BPN, will also be proactively visiting places, where the worship places have yet to obtain certificates," he stated.

In addition, the minister pushed regional governments to intensify efforts in providing reports on uncertified worship places.

"This includes PTSL, so we can revise the regional regulation if it still stipulates the need to pay 50 percent," he noted.

The minister attached importance to succeeding the implementation of the PTSL Program, considering that beneficiaries of the program are those, who have faced financial constraints in obtaining land certificates for decades.

During his visit to Tarantang Village, the minister and his entourage visited houses of the village residents one by one, especially beneficiaries of PTSL and waqf land certificates.
