Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) launched the i-Care JKN application to facilitate health workers to keep track of any medical treatment received by participants of the National Health Insurance (JKN) Program.

“The creation of this application will help medical officers to see the records of health services received by the participants within the last one year,” President Director of BPJS Kesehatan Ali Ghufron Mukti noted at the launch event here on Thursday.

Mukti remarked that the launch of the application is one of the concrete attempts by his side to improve health services for JKN participants.

The application can also facilitate communication and collaboration among various medical specialists in the treatment of patients.

However, health workers are not allowed to access the participants’ records without approval in order to maintain security and confidentiality of the patients’ data.

The health service history of participants can only be accessed if there are letters of approval stating that the patients have allowed their personal data to be accessed by medical staff.

JKN participants can also access i-Care JKN through the JKN Mobile application to view the history of medical treatments they received at first-level as well as referral health facilities.

The participants can also obtain information regarding the health facilities they were admitted to, when they were treated, medical procedures given, as well as diagnosis.

Mukti stated that development of the i-Care JKN application is one of the attempts to realize simple, fast, and equitable access to health services for the community.

"We are committed to building a sustainable digital ecosystem and providing the best service to JKN program participants. By implementing the i-Care JKN application and other innovations, we hope that we are able to increase the quality of health services for JKN participants," he affirmed.

BPJS Kesehatan noted that currently, the coverage of the national health social security program has reached over 90 percent of Indonesia's population.
