"Series 2 will be more exciting because it is attended by players from countries that are the mainstays of table tennis, namely China and Japan," Chairman of the Indonesian Table Tennis League Singgih Yeheskiel said here on Sunday.
Table tennis athletes, both from overseas and in Indonesia, will show their abilities at the tournament that will be held at GOR Gondrong sports complex in Cipondoh, Tangerang.
The Indonesian Table Tennis League is scheduled to have eight series.
Yeheskiel said the long series aims to advance the sport of table tennis in the country.
Meanwhile, chair of the tournament organizing committee Jopie Warsono said in addition to 100 local athletes, there will be 15 players from abroad that will participate in the competition.
"There are eight men's clubs and six women's clubs that will compete. Most clubs, both men's and women's, will be strengthened by foreign players," the former national athlete said.

Head of the Tangerang City Youth and Sports Office, Kaonang, welcomed the holding of the Indonesian Table Tennis League Series II in his region.
"This event supports Tangerang City in promoting sports tourism," he said.
According to him, there are many venues that can be used for sports events, one of which is the GOR Gondrong.
As a buffer area of Jakarta, Tangerang City has many five-star hotels, the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, and the ring toll road to smoothen traffic.
