Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Nadiem Anwar Makarim has urged people and stakeholders to exchange good practices and help one another in implementing Kurikulum Merdeka (Freedom in Curriculum).

"The inspiring story is expected to be able to encourage teachers to develop innovative learning," he remarked during the peak of the Kurikulum Merdeka Festival here on Tuesday.

Exchanging good Kurikulum Merdeka implementation practices will provide a reflection or an example to other teachers on implementing innovative learning for students.

Moreover, inspirational stories on Kurikulum Merdeka implementation can also provide a space for students to develop their interests and potential.

One of the platforms to share such practices is the Kurikulum Merdeka Festival held by Makarim's ministry, which can be joined by all educational units in Indonesia.

"The presence of various innovative learning practice stories from various education units across Indonesia that have implemented Kurikulum Merdeka are shared through this festival," he said.

Makarim then related an example of a good practice that he had heard about, which involved a headmaster at a kindergarten in Kuningan taking students to a cow farm to learn directly about animals, nature, and the surrounding environment.

He also recalled the example of a teacher in Aceh who invited students to learn how to process waste into organic fertilizer to resolve the issue of waste heap collecting at their school.

Makarim then expressed his gratitude and lauded headmasters and teachers who have implemented Kurikulum Merdeka in their education units.

He praised them saying that the bravery of teachers and headmasters has a major impact on fixing the quality of the education system and producing the Pancasila Student generation.

Makarim said that he expects everyone to contribute to ensuring that Kurikulum Merdeka can be implemented by all educational units in Indonesia.

"By holding the Kurikulum Merdeka Festival, we strengthen our spirit, expedite learning crisis recovery, and provide freedom to teachers and students," he remarked.
