Jakarta (ANTARA) - Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah expects that the occasion of Eid al-Adha can serve as a time to start to rise yet again after President Joko Widodo officially revoked the COVID-19 pandemic status in Indonesia.

"We are also grateful that the COVID-19 pandemic (status) has been revoked, and during this Eid al-Adha, people can celebrate it without masks, and we can do activities in office or at the workplace without masks anymore," the minister stated here on Thursday.

Minister Fauziyah urged one and all to make Eid al-Adha a moment to increase piety and belief towards God.

"May this (moment of competing to do good) give better blessings, so there will be more of it in the coming year," she stated.

The Manpower Ministry sacrificed some 40 animals, comprising 34 cows and six sheep for the religious occasion.

The minister witnessed the sacrifice proceedings that took place at the ministry's office.

"Thank God, we are given blessings this morning. We can perform the Eid al-Adha prayer, and this morning, we can gather to slaughter qurban animals," she stated.

Secretary General of the Manpower Ministry Anwar Sanusi remarked that the 40 animals were bought from the money pooled from the Manpower Ministry's technical units, including those spread across regions.

"Us, the committee, expressed utmost gratitude for all staff, who have been entrusted with the qurbani as well as its distribution," he remarked.

A public member, who received the qurban portion, Rohayati expressed her gratitude to the ministry for having distributed the meat to her.

"I express gratitude to Mrs Manpower Minister, who has distributed the qurban (meat) to the locals. Thank you a lot. May Allah bless you with a lot and give ways for a wealth of blessings," she stated.
