"Surely, with the synergy and solidity between the military and the police, I believe we can maintain and ensure the election (is held) safely," Margono stated after attending the interfaith prayer activity to commemorate the Indonesian Police's 77th Anniversary here on Friday (June 30).
To bolster synergy, the admiral said he has instructed his officers to be involved in the police's activities to revitalize cultural and religious sites in various regions.
Margono also commended the initiative as beneficial to preserve the nation's unity and integrity.
"We had conveyed to all military and police officers in regions as well as regional leadership coordination forums to continue preserving historical sites," he stated.

The commander expounded that the revitalization of cultural and religious sites will allow those sites to be preserved for the younger generation and allow them to understand their own nation's culture and play their part to preserve it.
"I believe the sites will be a historical legacy that will be hugely beneficial, although they might be relatively unknown by the current generation," Margono stated.
"There is certainly a history that can bolster our national unity and integrity until now (at those sites)," he remarked.
To commemorate its 77th anniversary, the Indonesian Police is revitalizing 77 religious and cultural sites nationwide. The agenda is implemented by regional police forces at 34 provinces, and they will each renovate two to three sites.
Religious and cultural sites revitalized under the agenda comprise places of worship of various faiths, cemeteries, religious symbols, and national sites.
