Badung, Bali (ANTARA) - The Pre-Employment Card Program will continue in 2024 despite a change in administration, the program's Management Executive Director Denni Purbasari affirmed on Monday.

This was conveyed by President Joko Widodo during an event in Sentul, Bogor in 2022, she noted here.

She informed that her side is still discussing the budget and quota for the program with the Pre-Employment Committee.

All decisions and details concerning the program will be announced at the end of July 2023, she added.

She said that to make the program successful and ensure its implementation proceeds well, her side requires assistance from all related parties.

One of the methods to achieve this is through the Inclusive Lifelong Learning Conference (ILLC) in Bali, which is taking place from July 3–6, 2023, in cooperation with UNESCO.

The Indonesian government and all Pre-Employment stakeholders are seeking to convey a gesture of compassion through the collaboration with UNESCO, she informed.

She said she expects the ILLC Program to showcase Indonesia's flexibility and readiness to meet the demand for various skills that the country needs in the future.

During the ILLC event, chair of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning's governing board, Daniel Baril said that Indonesia has set the best example in implementing lifelong learning.

The Pre-Employment Card Program is a good example of this, which, since 2020, has benefited around 17 million people and helped people get jobs.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that the Pre-Employment Card Program is part and parcel of the Indonesian government's commitment to supporting lifelong learning in all individuals.

He also highlighted that the number of program recipients who gained employment increased by 12 percent.
