Semarang (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana are scheduled to attend the National Children's Day (HAN) commemoration in Semarang City, Central Java, on Sunday, according to the city's mayor, Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu.

"God willing, Mr. President and the First Lady will attend the culmination of the 2023 HAN at the Simpang Lima Field on July 23," Rahayu said in Semarang on Wednesday.

She informed that the 2023 HAN commemoration will feature a series of ceremonial and supplementary activities, which will take place from July 20–23.

The activities will begin with events of the National Children's Forum, which are scheduled to start on July 20 and will be joined by 750 children from across Indonesia.

"The series of activities will be opened by the activities of the National Children's Forum from July 20–22 at the office of Central Java's Human Resource Development Agency (BPSDM)," she stated.

The mayor revealed that I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati, Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA), will join the commemoration by opening the forum's activity.

Furthermore, this year's HAN activities will also include the inauguration of the new management of the children's forum for the 2023–2025 period at Raden Saleh Cultural Park, Semarang, she added.

In addition, the PPPA Ministry will hand over the Child-Friendly City Award. Meanwhile, the culmination event is projected to be joined by 2,500 invitees and 10 thousand online participants.

A number of top national entertainers— Raffi Ahmad, Nagita Slavina, Woro Widiati, Ndarboy Genk, and Putri Ariani — will also enliven the 2023 HAN commemoration.

"We hope that the Ahmad-Slavina couple will join the festivities. There will also be musical performances by Woro Widowati, Ndarboy Genk, and Putri Ariani," she informed.

The 2023 HAN will also feature an exhibition on the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), which will be participated by representatives of at least 60 schools in Semarang city that have adopted the government's Merdeka (Independent) Curriculum.
