Semarang, C Java (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin instructed the central and local governments to listen and implement the Voices of Indonesia Children (SAI) delivered at the 2023 National Children's Day (HAN) summit.

"I have listened to your voices. Therefore, I will instruct all levels of government at the center and in the regions to listen and implement your voices," Amin said in Semarang, Central Java, on Sunday.

The HAN Summit event in Semarang carried the theme "Protected Children, Advanced Indonesia" with the tagline #BeraniKarenaPeduli or #CouragetoCare

The Voice of Indonesian Children (SAI), which contains deliverables from the National Children's Forum (FAN) this year, is a form of children's right to participate.

This year, the SAI, among others, contains ten aspirations on fulfilling children's civil rights, optimizing children's participation in decision-making, and educating families about democratic parenting.

"The National Children's Day has an important meaning because it is a form of respect, protection, and fulfillment of the rights of our nation's successors," he said.

He asked all parties to prioritize the fulfillment of children's protection, as it is the responsibility of all elements in the country.

"Develop creative and inclusive policies and programs to guarantee children's rights to live, grow, and participate," he said.

He added that the fulfillment of children's rights is based on the concept of human dignity.

The Vice President also emphasized that all children should be free from all forms of violence and discrimination.

"The Voice of Indonesian Children is a manifestation of children's rights that need to be heard, to be responded, and to be given opportunities to participate in development," he said.

Amin also asked that children, as the nation's future leaders, need to stay healthy and smart.

"For this reason, master science and technology as well as possible, and have noble character and morals. Develop your skills and talents. Spend time well and do positive things," he said.
