Every July 23, Indonesia celebrates National Children's Day, and this year, the commemoration carried the theme "Protected Children, Advanced Indonesia".
The president said the nation's best generation is born from times that provide a spacious place, for every child to grow up free, intelligent, and cheerful.
He wished a Happy National Children's Day by presenting an illustration showing Indonesian children's activities, such as playing various traditional games to bathing in the river.
Meanwhile, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin at the 2023 Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) Awards on Thursday (July 20) urged all parties to give their collective attention to the fulfillment of child protection since they are the nation's most valuable asset.
He reminded that family and alternative foster care should be a safe and comfortable environment for the child's growth, expressing concern about cases of child violence occurring in household environments.
The VP was scheduled to attend the summit of the 39th National Children's Day at the Simpang Lima Square, Semarang, Central Java.
At the summit, the National Children's Forum delivered the Indonesian Children's Voice, which contains the children's aspirations for the government to issue policies that benefit children more.
Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Bintang Puspayoga at the summit event said the Forum had successfully hosted the ASEAN Children's Forum (ACF).
"The Forum brought children representatives from ASEAN countries to jointly discuss children's current issues in the region and produced the ASEAN Children's Voice," she said at the National Children's Day Summit in Semarang.
