Jakarta (ANTARA) - Acting Governor of Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono stated that the Work From Home (WFH) policy for civil servants will be increased to 75 percent during the 43rd ASEAN Summit.

"During the period from September 4 to 7 around the venues South Jakarta, Gambir, and Gelora Bung Karno, work from home and school from home will be enforced. For State Civil Apparatus (ASN), we will even increase it up to 75 percent," Hartono stated during the tree planting activities under the Becakayu Toll Road in Duren Sawit, Jakarta, Saturday.

Hartono explained that the WFH trial for the civil servants will be conducted for three months from August 21 until October 21, with a 50-percent WFH scheme and 50-percent work offline.

The civil servants exempt from the WFH policy are those working in public services, such as hospitals and schools.

Moreover, the WFH policy will be increased, from 50 percent to 75 percent for ASN in the Jakarta Provincial Government during the 43rd ASEAN Summit that will be held on September 4-7.

According to Hartono, apart from reducing air pollution, the policy is also implemented to reduce traffic jams in Jakarta, especially during the 43rd ASEAN Summit.

Hartono remarked that ASN in institutions and ministries will also implement the WFH policy, akin to those imposed by the Jakarta Provincial Government.

"The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) has also issued instructions for all ministries regarding work from home policies similar to those implemented by the DKI Government," he remarked.

Although this policy is not mandatory for private companies, Hartono appealed to companies to regulate their own sectors that can implement WFH.
