The ministry's Deputy of Transportation and Infrastructure Rachmat Kaimuddin stated that the world is racing against time to fulfill its commitment to zero carbon emissions and achieving success in the sustainable development agenda (SDGs).
"Currently, there are many international agreements and commitments that are expected to encourage the achievement of greenhouse gas emission reduction targets. However, we need to move faster and be innovative," he stated at a press conference on ISF here on Tuesday.
Kaimuddin explained that ISF is a manifestation of Indonesia's contribution to the world to respond to challenges faced by developing and developed nations in achieving sustainable economic growth.
According to the ministry's deputy, global efforts must take into account various priority interests of developed and developing nations, so that sustainable economic growth can be felt equally by all.
"The Indonesian Government hopes ISF can present a new and fair medium for cross-border collaboration," he remarked.
Deputy Chairperson of Kadin for Maritime, Investment, and Foreign Affairs Shinta Kamdani stated that the initiative of sustainable principles is one of the ways for Indonesia to be free from the middle-income trap by clocking an economic growth of above six percent.
She noted that the government and business players need to continue to synergize to ensure the acceleration of sustainable economic growth that is inclusive.
Kadin also invited all business players in Indonesia and prospective investors to seize opportunities for sustainability in the business world that has the potential to become a promising economic sector in the future.
"The 2023 ISF event is real evidence of collaboration between business players and the government to create a sustainable business ecosystem in the green economy transition," she remarked.
The 2023 ISF is scheduled to take place on September 7-8, 2023, in Jakarta and will be attended by around 700 stakeholders, experts, and investors from around the world to build partnerships in sustainability to accelerate green economic growth.
The event is expected to become a medium for catalysts in the field of sustainability to meet and exchange ideas.
